Hibbert continues win streak at Jackson Hole Snocross National

December 11, 2017 – Tucker Hibbert continued his win streak at rounds three and four of the ISOC National Snocross tour in Jackson Hole, Wyo. Hibbert looked at home on Snow King Mountain’s fast hillside track winning three of his four qualifying rounds and both Pro finals.

Friday night’s Pro final was one for the record books. After a 12th place start in the 15-rider, 22-lap main event, Hibbert put on one of the most exciting comeback rides of his career. Pushing hard early, he moved into ninth but then struggled to find opportunities to pass or make up time on the group in front of him. Something clicked on lap 10 and he started dicing through the field. With three laps to go, he passed for second and had leader no. 43 Logan Christian in sight. He followed Christian closely for one lap and in the final corner of the final lap, snuck underneath him at the top of the hill, made the pass stick and charged down the hill to the finish to take the win.

Hibbert had the race he was looking for Saturday night. Second off the line in the 15-rider, 22-lap main event, he took over the lead in same corner he passed Christian the night before, and was never challenged to complete the weekend sweep.

Hibbert now has a 25-point lead over second place in the points championship.

The snocross tour takes a break for the holidays and fires back up January 5-6, just outside of Minneapolis, at Canterbury Park. Stay up-to-date with Hibbert and his preparations for the rest of the season by visiting tucker-hibbert.com.

On his win Friday Night:

“I got great starts in my qualifiers so I was planning to get a great start in the main event. I was late on my reaction time and got shuffled to the back. It was a really challenging race to have to pass that many riders and deal with the snow dust and roost. The track changed a lot. Halfway through the race I was able to pick up on some really good lines, got my momentum rolling and started reeling in the lead group. I didn’t know who was in the lead then I got a pit board to pass no. 43 on the last lap. I still didn’t know I won until after I crossed the finish line. I just kept pushing and tried to pass as many riders as I could.”

On his win Saturday night:

“Tonight’s main event was a lot less hectic for me and easier. Starting up front, I didn’t have to deal with passing all the riders and eating all the snow dust and roost. I was pushing really hard when I didn’t have people in front of me but when I got around lappers, I’d be cautious and take it easy. I was managing the race based on what was in front of me and going on.”

On taking the weekend sweep and being undefeated this winter:

“I’m really happy to win all the main events so far and having a good points lead going into the break. It gives us (the team) a lot of confidence and the motivation to push hard so we can carry this momentum through the rest of the season.”

On his welcome back to the Jackson Hole area:

“I kind of knew that a lot of my friends and family from this area would be here but was a little surprised by all the people who showed up. It was awesome to have that kind of support and see all the people I don’t usually see at the racetrack.”

Hibbert in top form sweeping the first Snocross event of the 2017/2018 season

November 27, 2017 – Tucker Hibbert hit the 2017/2018 ISOC National Snocross season swinging, winning both Pro finals at the season opener Duluth, Minn. The 10-time champion made a statement riding with confidence on his all-new Monster Energy / Ram Truck backed Arctic Cat ZR 6000R SX race sled.

Spirit Mountain featured a rough, technical track for the 26th running of the Duluth National. Known for his ability to find fast lines on challenging racecourses, Hibbert had a near perfect weekend winning three of his four qualifying races and both final events.

The main events Saturday and Sunday played out much the same for Hibbert – quick jumps off the start line, exiting the first turn in the top-five of the 15-rider fields, taking the lead in lap three of the 22-lap races and riding unchallenged to the finish.

Up next is the Jackson Hole Snocross National December 8-9 in Wyoming. Born just 35 miles away in Driggs, Idaho, it’ll be a homecoming event for Hibbert.

On his win Saturday night:

“It’s an awesome night. It feels so good to start the season with a win. I feel really strong and the sled is working great. Honestly, I wasn’t super happy about my line choices. I kept thinking there’s got to be something better out here. After searching for a while I decided to stick to what I knew was working. Having a race like this gives me a lot of confidence.”

On his win Sunday and taking the weekend sweep:

“You always hope to have a weekend like this but I didn’t expect it to be this good. I don’t have enough good things to say about my sled. Everyone at Arctic Cat – the whole engineering crew worked so hard to make this sled the best it could be. I feel like we’re just getting started and have so much we can improve and build on. I’m grateful for this opportunity and no matter how many times I stand up here [the podium] it means a lot to me. I have so many good memories at Spirit Mountain.”

Weekend highlights:

“It was really fun to be back at the racetrack with my team. Everything just clicked and that’s when it’s fun. Nothing beats seeing your hard work pay off. We had a lot of laughs in the trailer this weekend and, to me, that’s what makes a race weekend memorable.”

Looking ahead:

“We’re in a good position and it feels great to leave the first race with the points lead. It’s a good place to be and I know we can keep improving. I know everyone will show up at the next round stronger so we need to make sure we’re doing the same – keep pushing and keep improving.”

Join Tucker and Team 68 at Walk for Wishes 2017!

Tucker Hibbert will once again lead a team of loyal fans, friends and family at Make-A-Wish® Minnesota’s Walk for Wishes® event in Minneapolis Saturday, August 5. Last year, Hibbert’s Team 68 raised over $10,000 to help fund the wishes of children battling life-threatening medical conditions.

“I’m really excited to get Team 68 together again to raise money for Make-A-Wish Minnesota,” Hibbert said. “I was blown away by the success of last year’s team and the amount of money we raised. It was awesome having so many people rally together to support the cause. I’ve seen, first-hand, the joy and strength a wish provides for a wish kid. I’m honored to have the opportunity to be involved in an organization that can provide that and thankful people around me feel the same way.”

“Kids who receive a wish are often facing the biggest challenge of their young lives, and their families are facing those struggles right alongside them,” said Mia Broos Hoagberg, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Minnesota. “By walking with Tucker you are sending a strong signal to wish kids and their families – You don’t walk alone. We are here for you! With each step, and with every dollar raised, you bring joy to a child who desperately needs it.”

The 2017 Walk for Wishes 5K walk / run will take place Saturday, August 5 at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis. A donation of $20 confirms a spot on Team 68 and limited edition t-shirt. Every dollar raised by the team will go directly to Make-A-Wish Minnesota. To join Team 68, go to site.wish.org/goto/Team68. People who join for $20 but are unable to attend the event will still receive a limited edition t-shirt to acknowledge their contribution.

Tucker Hibbert finishes third in 2017 Pro National Snocross Championship

March 21, 2017 – Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck’s Tucker Hibbert finished third in the 2016/2017 ISOC National Snocross Pro Open Championship with a solid weekend of racing at the Ram Truck Grand Finale National in Lake Geneva, Wisc. The three-day event capped off another remarkable season for the 10-time champion.

Hibbert’s victory in front of a packed crowd Saturday night was the highlight of his weekend. With a second place start in the 14-rider, 10-lap final, he was in good position but, ultimately, strategy played a major factor in the race. On lap six, the leader took the joker lane (an extended section of the track each rider was required to take once during the race), opening the door for Hibbert to take control of the race. He took full advantage of the opportunity, laying down fast lap after fast lap to pull a comfortable lead over second place. He waited until the final lap to take the joker lane and secured the victory.

Recapping Hibbert’s 17th Pro National season, he tallied a series-high seven Pro Open final wins, 11 podiums and 14 top-five finishes. In the process, he added another career milestone to his record by winning his 125th Pro National race at the Eastern National in New York.

On his results at Lake Geneva:

“Winning the final Saturday night was awesome and I feel like I rode really well. With a crash Friday night and a third Sunday, I’m a little disappointed. I feel like my speed didn’t match my results.”

Overall thoughts on the season:

“It feels good to have won the most races. I felt really strong most of the season. I had some low points but, overall, it was a pretty successful year. It’s awesome to finish the season healthy and strong.”
